My Story

I'm Iain,

I game pretty poorly, but I'm pretty good at staying awake. I rep MCHR. One time I speed ran Final Fantasy 7 in 52 non-consecutive hours. I don't have a gaming strong-suit, but I like RPG's and I LOVE an M.M.O.

The scale of Typhoon Haiyan is what's so deeply shocking to me. 9.8 million people have been affected by Haiyan 1.5million of whom are children. This is huge!

There are a lot of people and a lot of organisations asking for donations to help with this disaster. There aren't a lot of people ready to risk conjunctivitis and their grip on reality. Indeed there aren't a lot of organisations as transparent and well respected World Vision Australia.

There just aren't a lot of organisations like World Vision Australia.

The damage I will be doing to my body and mind over this 24 hour period pales in comparison to the good, hard, thankless work that your donations will pay for World Vision to do in the Philippines over the coming weeks and months.

As of the 17th of November 375,795 people have received food aid, that's a lot and that's only 15.3% of those in need.

There is a long way to go, but every bit helps. Thank you for giving what you can.

$24.00 means you can set me a challenge. $48.00 means I'll have to endure an amusing punishment. You can watch live on the webcam.

Cheers,

Iain

On December 7 PC & Tech Authority are holding a gaming marathon at Atomic Headquarters – 24 hours straight – to raise money for those in need in the Philippines.

Atomic has established a team of gamers in the hope that for every hour they spend gaming each donor will give $1. Give what you can, but we’re asking $24 to make every hour count as we try to raise $10,000 for World Vision’s drive specifically for the Typhoon.
